Mao Xuhui
ao Xuhui (1956 Chongqing) graduated from Yunnan Academy of Fine Arts in 1982. He is one of the leaders of the "New Imagist" movemment in the 80s. He is a talented but largely under-rated painter from southwestern China. He is best-known for his series of scissor paintings, which has a power and depth and style that are surprising for art pieces centered on a single object. His red body series, body in cement room, Guishan series, collage series and the scissor series showed the disturbance (turmoil) of his expeirences and feelings. He's teaching in Yunnan Academy of Fine Arts right now.
