 ui Xiuwen (1971 Heilongjiang) is a conceptual photographer and video artist based in Beijing. Her video piece, "Lady's Room," documenting the inside of a women's room at a night club, was shown at art shows internationally. And her photographs of a young girl girl, battered and bruised, make up her highly acclaimed series, "One Day in 2004." Much of her works deals with women's issues and the roles of women in Chinese society. Cui Xiuwen lives and works in Beijing. |
