 iang WeiZhou (1962, Shanghai) graduated in 1989 from East China Normal University and has worked there as a teacher ever since.
Spurning the mainstream of drawing still life, the objects of his early works were painted gray. They looked as time worn after long use. In the middle of the 1990s, his style of drawing became bright and colorful with carefree brushstrokes. Liang also devoted much time to photography. His representative work: “Scenery" could be described as the personal records of an ordinary life with subjective coloring which represent dull daily matters without shocking plots or stories. |
